In October and November of 2012, Cabot Microelectronics is conducting a Coats for Kids Drive along with the City of Aurora, the Kiwanis Club of Aurora, and Communities in Schools.
In August of 2012, CMC held its annual blood drive at the Aurora, IL campus. This year a total of 33 units were collected.

In March of 2011, CMC asked all employees to donate to the Japanese Tsunami Relief Effort to help those affected by the devastating tsunami in Japan. A total of $60,000 dollars was donated by CMC to the American Red Cross and its partner the Japanese Red Cross Society to help with the relief efforts. ($30,000 by employees and $30,000 in corporate match.)

Cabot Microelectronics Corporation, announced that it was named as one of only eight companies receiving Intel Corporation's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for its performance in 2012. Cabot Microelectronics Corporation is recognized for its significant contributions in providing Intel with CMP slurries and pads, deemed essential to Intel's success.
